- The exercise stations in Volkspark Hasenheide belong to a roughly 1.6 km circuit completed in 2022 under the Berlin Senate programme “Berlin bewegt sich!”, commissioned by the Senate Department for Science, Health, Care and Equality through Gruen Berlin GmbH and planned by KUULA Landschaftsarchitekten. According to the architects, the 1,050 sqm scheme cost about 331,000 euros and runs between Columbiadamm in the south and the Jahn monument in the north, offering exercise options for strength and endurance, motor skills and coordination, running exercises and guided group sessions. - Friedrich Ludwig Jahn opened the first Turnplatz (open-air gymnastics ground) in Volkspark Hasenheide on 19 June 1811, and the Jahn monument at the park's northern entrance still marks the site. The western part of the roughly 50-hectare Neukoelln park was rebuilt after the Second World War from some 700,000 cubic metres of war rubble, forming the Rixdorfer Hoehe, which reaches 68 metres above sea level and rises 22 metres above the surrounding ground; the park reopened on 7 June 1954.
