About Nuremberg

SportService Nürnberg, the city’s sports office, marks 13 sites on its overview map of calisthenics facilities, among them the Calisthenics Park on Jamnitzer Platz and the facilities in Quelle-Park, in Volkspark Marienberg and at Leonhardspark. It also lists eight exercise parks that are free to use all year; the city describes their equipment as suitable for all ages and especially for older people. Good to know

• Not every site on the city’s calisthenics map is open to everyone: the outdoor fitness park in Sportpark Ebensee on Ziegenstraße is run by the club Post SV Nürnberg, and its equipment is reserved for club members who pay the relevant supplementary fees. (Source: post-sv.de)
• Since 2022 the city has added calisthenics equipment to several new or redesigned squares and green spaces, among them Jamnitzer Platz (opened on 24 March 2022), the Dorfäckerstraße green space (3 May 2023), Helmut-Herold-Platz (12 April 2024) and Züricher Park in Großreuth (8 April 2025).
