Good to know
- The Bewegungsinsel at the Bramfelder See was paid for out of Hamburg's Active City budget; on 8 June 2018 the local CDU district councillor Sandro Kappe reported it as all but finished, with the explanatory board already installed. (Source: sandrokappe.de)
- The Bewegungsinsel sits on the central plaza on the north-eastern shore of the Bramfelder See at Fabriciusstraße and was built with fixed stainless-steel equipment (“Es werden feste Edelstahlgeräte aufgebaut”). A full refurbishment and reorganisation of that plaza was estimated at 95,000 to 100,000 euros, which local CDU councillor Sandro Kappe argued should be pursued while RISE urban-renewal money for the Fördergebiet Steilshoop — up to 50 per cent co-financing, available only until 2021 — could still cover half of it.
