Calisthenics Park
Train at Calisthenics Park, an open-air calisthenics park in Berlin featuring pull-up bars.
Located in the Hermsdorf area of Berlin.
Good to know
- The four training points ring the Waldsee in the Hermsdorf part of Reinickendorf, a lake of 2.5 hectares. Formerly called Sandsee and for a time Lessingsee, it was dredged and enlarged, its shore planted with rare trees and given a rowing-boat landing stage when the Hermsdorfer Boden-Aktiengesellschaft laid out the surrounding “Waldseeviertel” between 1908 and 1914. (Source: de.wikipedia.org)
- OpenStreetMap maps the Waldsee circuit as several separate stations, mostly on woodchips: a horizontal bar, wall bars and a monkey ladder on the northern shore, parallel bars and push-up bars by the playground, plus stretching, exercise-bike and air-walker units, a number of them tagged as supplied by Playpark. A boules pitch is mapped on the northern shore. (Source: openstreetmap.org)
- To stop the lake from tipping ecologically, the Waldsee was de-silted in 2016/2017. The sediment and pollution loads washed in through the Ceciliengraben and three stormwater pipes were up to about 2.5 metres thick. (Source: de.wikipedia.org)
