Good to know
- The Hauptallee through the Wiener Prater is a roughly 4.4 km avenue laid out in 1537/38, with several rows of chestnut trees between its carriageway, bridle paths and pedestrian promenades. Private motor traffic has been largely prohibited on it since June 1964, so it now serves as a public recreation route for runners (for example at the annual Vienna City Marathon), cyclists and walkers; on 12 October 2019 Eliud Kipchoge ran the first sub-two-hour marathon (1:59:40) on a course consisting largely of repeated laps of it.
