- The complex was modernised in 2019 by the landscape architects Naumann Landschaft for the Bergedorf and Mitte district offices: an ageing cinder pitch and cinder running track were converted into an artificial turf field, and a running track with a 50-metre sprint lane, a long jump facility, a beach volleyball court, a streetball court and a fitness combination for strength exercises were added. - The calisthenics course is part of the Sportanlage Mittlerer Landweg, which Hamburg's sports senator Andy Grote and Bergedorf district office head Arne Dornquast inaugurated on 14 January 2019.
