Good to know
- In June 2025 the SPD and Grüne factions of the Hamburgische Buergerschaft moved to secure 220,000 euros from the Sanierungsfonds Hamburg 2030 for the Stadion Hammer Park: the stadium refurbishment had risen to around 800,000 euros excluding the calisthenics work, so repairing, enlarging and making the existing calisthenics facility barrier-free - including a continuous Tartan floor and low-barrier equipment for people with restricted mobility and older users - was 'akut gefaehrdet'. The money was granted and spent. (Source: spd-fraktion-hamburg.de)
- The Hammer Park stadium reopened on 3 June 2026 after the rebuild; the sports areas were supplemented with a barrier-free calisthenics facility and given a special impact-absorbing surface. The works were paid for with about 800,000 euros from the district sports-facility budget plus 220,000 euros from the Sanierungsfonds der Hamburgischen Buergerschaft 2030. Completion slipped from autumn 2025 because of a suspected asbestos find during demolition and then persistent rain and low temperatures. (Source: hamburg.de)
