- The training area adjoins the Plansche Singerstraße, opposite the Max-Planck-Gymnasium at Singerstraße 8a, whose refurbishment was completed after three years of construction and which reopened on 20 June 2024. The roughly 2.5 million euro cost was supported from federal and state money of the Städtebauförderung programme “Lebendige Zentren und Quartiere”, and besides new water-spray elements, slab paths and play and fitness facilities numerous new trees and shrubs were planted. - The Plansche was built in 1962/63 by Rolf Timmler and recalled the flight of the first space satellite, Sputnik. Its redesign came from the office Levin Monsigny Landschaftsarchitekten, selected in a two-stage expert procedure with public participation that included an idea workshop in October 2018; construction began in December 2021 and the process was managed by KoSP GmbH.
