Good to know

Skwer Sportów Miejskich Ratusz Arsenał, next to the Ratusz Arsenał metro station by the Royal Arsenal building, was created after residents voted for it in Warsaw's participatory budget and was built by the city greenery board over the metro tunnel, with construction planned to start in October 2021 and completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2022. It combines skate-friendly hardened alleys with low walls for rollerblading, skateboarding and scooters, and a calisthenics rig on permeable anti-slip surfacing on the side closer to Ogród Krasińskich. Ogród Krasińskich covers 7.9 hectares and was opened to the public in 1768 as the first Warsaw garden laid out for public recreation, then rebuilt as an English landscape garden between 1891 and 1895 by Franciszek Szanior. Following a 2012–2014 restoration designed by the Abies landscape architecture studio, the garden — managed by Warsaw's Greenery Board — offers an outdoor gym, three playgrounds, boules lanes, game tables and a water play area. This facility was financed through Warsaw's participatory budget (budżet obywatelski), which the city has run annually since 2014 and which drew close to 21,000 project proposals from residents in its first nine years. (Source: um.warszawa.pl)
