The city sport and leisure department built the facility in 2017 in the south-eastern part of the Unterer Luisenpark sports ground, between the circular track and the playing field. The city of Mannheim names the individual stations: the push-up bars train the whole supporting musculature, the low parallettes the shoulder and neck muscles, the jump platform the leg power at various heights, the double parallel bars the chest muscles and upper arms, and the work-out desk combines abdominal training with push-up bars in four different sizes. The whole facility is competition-grade, barrier-free and carries an instruction board. A SportBox in the Unterer Luisenpark also holds TRX straps, kettlebells, yoga mats, dumbbells and resistance bands; after a one-off registration for 50 cents it can be booked free of charge through an app. (Source: mannheim.de)
