Good to know
- The rig went into use in May 2018 and was described at the time as the largest of its kind in all of Karlsruhe. It stands on the grounds of the Blaues Haus, the Kinder- und Jugendhaus Geroldsäcker in Hagsfeld run by the Stadtjugendausschuss (stja) e. V. (Source: stja.de)
- The project grew out of youth participation: a group around Christian Merkel proposed it at the youth conference the year before and pursued it through youth forums and the Juko-Check. The Gartenbauamt of the City of Karlsruhe built the facility and the city financed it; a 3,800 euro donation from Hagsfeld entrepreneur Thorsten Ehlgötz and further sponsors from his circle paid for one additional element.
