- The pull-up bars stand on Bonhoefferplatz, an 8,000-square-metre park square laid out in 1897 that the city reconstructed following heritage-conservation guidelines to restore its original historic layout; the reconstruction of the whole park cost 1.2 million marks (650,000 marks for the west side alone) and the renewed square was handed back to the public on 5 April 2001.
