The Sporthain was created there, with an outdoor fitness centre holding calisthenics equipment, two round small basketball fields, a field with an XXL basketball hoop and around 1,200 square metres of meadow; OpenStreetMap records the area as a calisthenics sports facility. The project to develop the Hoeschpark into an integration, health, sport and leisure park cost around 7 million euros, of which 5.57 million came from the urban renewal programme Soziale Stadt - Dortmund Nordstadt, carried by the European Regional Development Fund, the federal government and North Rhine-Westphalia.
