- On 19 May 2014 the Bezirksvertretung Lindenthal accepted a 58,000-euro donation from the Kölner Grün Stiftung for a Trimm-Dich-Parcours in the Beethovenpark, and in June 2014 the foundation offered a further 18,000 euros so the course could be extended with seven slackline posts and signage. Planning and site supervision lay with the city's Amt für Landschaftspflege und Grünflächen; the site chosen was a smaller meadow in the north-western part of the park between the sports pitches and the Castellauner Straße/Simmerer Straße entrance, and the finished course was handed over to users at the end of August 2014. - The Beethovenpark covers 40.4 hectares in Köln-Sülz and was created in the 1920s on the site of the former Essersche gravel pit in connection with the Äußerer Grüngürtel.
